Firefox 5, 6 TabsToolbar Fix by dpcdpc11 Firefox 5, 6 TabsToolbar Fix by dpcdpc11

UPDATE: Firefox 6 Fix added... please redownload!!!

DOWNLOAD HERE

or use the download link from deviantArt!

So here's a fix for something that gave me nightmares for sooo sooooo sooooo long!!!
But I've finally manage to find the bug.

I'm talking of course about the Tabs Toolbar problem.
Using Windows7 Styles with 1px left/right window frames made the Tabs Toolbar (top window frame) to go blank when hovering over certain elements and when browsing certain websites.
The problem could not be fixed in the win7 Styles because they had not problem to be fixed in the first place.

So knowing that a certain alpha nightly build of Firefox 4 used to work just fine with these kind of win7 Styles, I've started to dig up into the code of Firefox 4. I know the problem has be inside the browser.css file... so after a few hours later... EUREKA!! There it was the nasty code line that was giving night mares are ruined my themes:

#main-window[sizemode=normal]:not([inFullscreen]):not([disablechrome]) #tabbrowser-tabs[tabsontop=true] > .tabbrowser-arrowscrollbox > .arrowscrollbox-scrollbox > .scrollbox-innerbox:not(:-moz-lwtheme) {
position: relative; }

All I had to do is to comment out this code and now everything seems to be working flawlessly!

Please confirm if the fix works for you or if you encounter any bugs.

Known issues:
- none in FF5... at least from my tests except for using this position: fixed to position the #appmenu-button-container in Stylish.
- issue with the sidebar opened (bookmarks, history etc.). Mozilla team can suck my balls for this! I would recommend you to stay with FF5 untill FF9 is released. You won't get noticeable changes so there's no reason for updating! FF7 will introduce something news regarding the way system memory is managed... but as always when something news comes along, bugs are present as well.

HOW TO:

1. Go to your firefox installation folder and backup the file omni.jar. For those using Firefox Portable you can find the file at: FirefoxPortable\App\Firefox\
2. Unpack the content of this archive
3. Copy the file omni.jar from the archive to the root of your Firefox installation folder, or for those using Firefox Portable copy the file to: FirefoxPortable\App\Firefox\
4. Start you Firefox browser and browse along without having to worry about the Tabs Toolbar ever disappearing again!

Also don't forget to check out the Thunderbird Fix as well: [link]

Hi, I know this visual style is few months without any updates, so don't know if it is still alive at all, but I experience one issue> I cannot open any menu in Firefox.
- If click the orange main button
- If using ALT the standard menu appears, but when using keyboard arrows and ENTER keys try activate some menu
- If try to show context menu using right mouse button
-> Then in all cases described above it seems the menu panel appears for few miliseconds (just blick :) ) and then it disappears.

Anyway very nice visual style, thanks.

firefox 9.01 here. No news?

I was using it before without any visual trouble. Was a ff 9 updated, and your theme was installed at an early version with no fixes at all. So, A year ago, when I installed firefox for first time on this machine, have any trouble. Updating several versiones at his come up don`t change anything. Now I formated and reinstalled the system, installed ff9, and the problem is there.

I know... FF9 is here and FF10 is coming soon, then FF11 and soon after FF12 which I'm currently testing.
I'm giving up on this one. Every new version is even fucked up compared to the previous and it's a real headache to find the fix.
The idiots at Mozilla keep screwing this great browser with idiotic ideas which are driving theme's crazy!

hi man, can you tell me which .css file that you edited? Unlike the fix of thunderbird which contains the edited files, your FF fix doesn't have any so I couldn't work out which file that I need to work on if I want to try the mod myself. thanks
